Abbott Launches Institute Focused on Improving Care for Patients with Cardiac and Vascular Disease
The Crossroads Institute,
a medical education initiative from Abbott Vascular, offers physicians more
than 70 courses on cardiac and vascular treatment, with 50 of the courses
accredited for continuing medical education. The Institute features a teaching
faculty of more than 100 worldwide experts providing patient-focused training
on the latest subjects and techniques in cardiac and vascular care.
Featuring discussion forums with physician experts, the Crossroads Institute
offers high-touch teaching methodologies with virtual simulators and a virtual
in-house catheterization lab to help physicians learn the latest in cardiac and
vascular treatment methodologies. The goal is for professionals to return to
their practice equipped with new techniques, practical skills, experience and
clinical insights.
Formerly the Guidant Institute of Therapy Advancement, Abbott announced the
newly-named Crossroads Institute in May. The Crossroads Institute for cardiac
and vascular medical education is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, with
established facilities in Tokyo, Japan, and Joannesburg, South Africa.
